Saint Laurent Palm Print Shirt

I recently collaborated with Mr.Porter over on Instagram (here) and for one of the pieces I chose this Saint Laurent Palm Print Shirt which I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time. I’m not usually a fan of the summer, my pale skin doesn’t really get on with the sunshine and I end up looking like a lobster for most of the summer months. So when it comes to dressing for the sun I get a bit flustered, I like layering but I also get warm very quickly and end up taking all my layers off. Recently I have been attracted to the revere collar shirt like in my recent Allsaints post here. Now this Saint Laurent one is perfect, black and white, lightweight material and it’s Saint Laurent.
It fits in really well with my wardrobe and I can’t wait to take it around the world with me this summer, it’s the perfect companion and I’ve even been layering it up because it’s actually quite cold here in London. I wore it with my black ripped knee skinny jeans and Allsaints creepers just because the shirt is so busy that everything else needs to be simple.
I think brands like Saint Laurent produce timeless pieces that everyone can relate to, whether they can afford them or not is another story as the brand does have an extremely high price point. I’ve always liked mixing high end pieces with high street and think that great style comes from confidence and attention to detail rather than how expensive your clothes are. To be honest a lot of Saint Laurent pieces, including this shirt – you can find similar looking styles in vintage stores or on the high street.
