New Year, New Me is the phrase that is continuously running through my head. I genuinely love new year because I myself am a fan of reinvention. Any chance to re-invent I can get, I take. Whether it’s changing the layout of my bedroom, adopting a new skincare routine or even eating at a new restaurant. Keeping things new and exciting is important and change motivates – the prospect of a new year makes me work even harder to achieve my goals.
In celebration of the new year for this post I’ve collaborated with one of my favourite brands StoneFeather and styled 3 pieces out their outerwear in 3 different ways. StoneFeather is a new menswear brand that has a minimal aesthetic, focusing on good quality pieces. You can check out their store here. I’ve featured these pieces before over on my YouTube channel here if you want to see them in motion. I’ve styled their classic neoprene biker jacket in 2 different colour ways and their Oreo bomber jacket with my new Puma Creepers. I decided to do a monster post for my first post of 2017, 3 outfits, 3 jackets, 3 ways of styling accompanied by 3 ways to own 2017.
(Also quickly before you scroll down to read the post, I’d love to know your thoughts on these outfits and my new blog layout down in the comment section at the bottom of this post!)

Think Positive
Negative thinking gets you nowhere, being negative towards others gets you nowhere, just being negative in general does nothing for you – so why waste your time being negative? Focus on the good in your life and strive to improve areas of negativity. I’m at a time in my life where I don’t want to waste my time with any negative thoughts because life’s too short. I’m learning to shrug off the hateful comments, the sarcastic emails and all the dishonesty in the blogging industry. At the end of the day as long as you’re happy and focus on your own personal achievements and goals, no one can get you down. Leave the negativity to everyone else, you don’t have time for it.

Intention not Resolution
A lot of the classic New Years Resolutions are negative, they involve stopping something or restricting yourself in certain ways. I’ve read a lot online this year about New Year Intentions, a more positive spin on the classic resolution. So instead of ‘going on a diet’ your new years intention might be to ‘eat healthier’ giving you a much more positive mindset allowing you to achieve your goals. Don’t forget these are long term goals and if you put major pressure on them, you’re most likely to not stick to them. Making slight slow changes for the better in your life is always going to be better than going cold turkey from something you love.

Take Each Day As It Comes
I’ve sort of always done this but it surprises me how many people don’t think this way. I have bigger goals in mind obviously but with each day I have a to-do list, what I need to get done that day. Priorities I guess. They might be small tasks like – wash my clothes or clean my sneakers to bigger things like take outfit pictures for a blog post or film a youtube video. Taking each day as it comes allows me to focus on what’s important all in the run up to achieving bigger goals, I know that If I focus on each day then everything else will fall into place. Planning and execution are really important to being in control of your own life and your own future. So think about it carefully and take each day as it comes, you’ll be owning your 2017 in no time.
Thank you to StoneFeather (here) for collaborating with me on this post and Happy New Year to everyone, as always thank you for stopping by.
