Recently I was invited by Farfetch to an event in the heart of Shoreditch, East London with a few of my favourite people to attend a customisation masterclass where we got to choose a pair of luxury sneakers to recreate. The event was a collaboration between Farfetch and The Shoe Surgeon.
After hearing how The Shoe Surgeon got to where he is today, we were given our sneakers, tools and materials and were let loose – In all honesty I had no idea what I wanted to do to the sneakers. I chose the Alexander McQueen exaggerated sole sneakers, I saw eyelets on the table and whilst everyone else was replacing the eyelets on their shoes I thought – why not punch eyelets throughout the sneaker itself?
Not very practical for bad weather I know but I’m actually really happy with the final outcome, since then i’ve changed the laces back to the classic black laces as I think it gives a cleaner effect. I’d love to know what you think of my creation, scroll down to see more from the night and let me know in the comments below.
