Hey guys, I’m back today with How to Style a Biker Jacket. The Biker Jacket is the main staple item in my wardrobe – I did go through a phase of wearing only biker jackets for a very long time. I can’t count how many different styles I have right now because I think it’s a bit of an obsession. Suede, Leather, vintage to faux leather – this Topman one never fails to be the go-to piece when I think of all my biker jackets.

I think every guy needs a biker jacket but deciding on the right one is quite a difficult task. You can get epaulettes, belted, asymmetric zip, collarless etc. The possibilities are endless really. It all depends on your own personal style, what you like and what you feel comfortable wearing. I remember when I was at college I found an amazing biker jacket at a store called Ryan Vintage in Manchester. It was only £20 and I thought it was amazing, however when I got home I tried it with other pieces in my wardrobe and it just didn’t look right, there was something about the fit that was just off a little. I wore it when I went to leeds fest (2009 or something, god I feel old). I paired it with a fedora and I felt like boy george haha, what wasn’t right about it were the epaulettes on the shoulders, exaggerating my shoulders giving it a bit of an 80’s silhouette which wasn’t really what I was going for.

Definitely try on different types and find the silhouette that suits you the most and one that’s versatile in your wardrobe. A biker jacket can be dressed up or down, formal or casual. Here I’ve styled it extremely casual with an oversized jumper, biker jeans and chelsea boots. You can also go the other way completely and wear it with a white shirt, formal (skinny) trousers and brogue or something like that.

I’ll definitely be wearing my biker jackets throughout 2016 and looking out for new materials/styles and I’d love to see how you guys wear your biker jackets so let me know if you want me to check them out by leaving a comment at the bottom of this post.

As always, thank you for stopping by it means so much!
